The latest Buster Magnum models are easier to handle than ever. Yamaha’s new generation of 4.2L V6 outboards with the Helm Master EX system can now be integrated with Sleipner’s variable speed SEP40 bow thruster. In practice, this means that in harbours, you can steer the boat with just one joystick – controlling both the outboard and the bow thruster seamlessly.

The result? Incredibly smooth and intuitive docking. Leaving or returning to the dock is effortless. The Sleipner SEP40 thruster activates when needed, keeping the boat steady and responsive – even in tight spaces.

The 2025 Magnum models come with Yamaha’s new generation 4.2-litre V6 engines. The Buster Magnum 2025 is powered by the Yamaha F250, the Buster Magnum Cabin by the Yamaha F300 XSB, and the Buster SuperMagnum by the Yamaha F350. These more powerful engines enhance performance, especially under heavy load, while modern engine technology ensures fuel efficiency.

These engines offer more power and torque at lower RPMs compared to smaller models, making low-speed handling easier.

  • Buster Magnum 2025 and Yamaha F250: The most economical speed range is 22–28 knots, with fuel consumption around 1 litre per nautical mile. The top speed with the new engine is approximately 47 knots.
  • Buster SuperMagnum 2025 and Yamaha F350XSA: The most economical speed range is 18–30 knots, with fuel consumption under 1.2 litres per nautical mile. The top speed is around 52 knots.
  • Buster Magnum Cabin and Yamaha F300 XSB: The most economical speed range is 19–27 knots, with fuel consumption between 1.1–1.3 litres per nautical mile. The top speed is approximately 46 knots.

Buster Magnum

The current, recently updated 7.2-metre-long Buster Magnum represents the fifth generation of the model series. The boat is registered for eight people. The Magnum has been part of Buster's range since 1990 and is the most popular large open boat in the Nordics.

Buster SuperMagnum

The larger SuperMagnum is the third generation in its model series and has been part of Buster's range since 2013. With an overall length of 7.4 metres, the SuperMagnum is registered for ten people.

Buster Magnum Cabin

The Buster Magnum Cabin is a luxurious commuter boat designed for eight people, suitable for all weather conditions. The hull is made of aluminium, while the deck and cabin are constructed from fibreglass. Thanks to the large panoramic windows and unobstructed 360-degree view, the interior feels like an open boat but with the comfort of enclosed spaces.

Yamaha Helm Master EX

Yamaha’s new V6 engines come standard with hydraulic steering, but a fully electric DES (Digital Electric Steering) system is available as an option. DES also enables the use of the Helm Master EX control system. With Yamaha’s Helm Master, the boat can be controlled at low speeds using a joystick, held in position with the SetPoint function, and on longer trips, the autopilot makes cruising easier.

The Helm Master control can also be integrated with the boat’s variable speed Sleipner SEP40 bow thruster, allowing seamless control of both the bow thruster and the outboard during docking manoeuvres using a single joystick.

Other features enhancing the usability of the new engines include the TERE exhaust system and the TotalTilt function. The TERE exhaust system (Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust) keeps exhaust gases away from the propeller when reversing, improving handling. TotalTilt allows for easy and quick tilting or lowering of the engine with a simple double press of the trim button.
