In Finland, boats that are at least 5.5 metres long, or smaller boats with at least a 15 kW engine, must be entered into the registry maintained by the Magistrate. The registration number must be placed in a clearly visible spot on both sides of the boat, and the letters must be at least 7.5 centimetres high.
The driver of the boat to be registered must be at least 15 years of age.
